It had indeed been a great many months since I have posted here. In my mind I have posted many times. Anyone out there a mind reader and thus saw the post about that funny thing, my vacation, the summer of wedding cakes or the latest craft project on the go? No? Damn. I’m not going to attempt to go back and make up for lost time, rather I’ll push ever forward in the pursuit of cathartic and creative blogging excellence. My faithful reader(s), I know you deserve so much more, but that’s all I’ve got so lay off already, eh?
The cake season will come to a close within the next two months and so I’ve begun dreaming about craft projects and a Christmas season filled with homemade gifts. I have this dream every year, and round about December 23rd, it is replaced by the nightmare of a reality that finds me standing in lines wondering what the heck Unkie Dave could use from The Body Shop.
Last week, we visited with friends who have delivered unto the world an adorable child. In an effort to welcome said child and win her parents affection with gifts, I whipped up a little softie. Not Martha mentioned this book a while ago and I flipped through the pages on my last visit to the bookstore. The inspiration for my own treeling comes from the pages of that book. I’d recommend the book to anyone who can even handsew. The patterns seemed easy enough and small enough to work out by hand and everything is done in the flashiest of flashes.
